A Gentle Invitation to Rest, Restore & Reconnect
As the year draws to a close, give yourself the gift of stillness.
Join Farhad Khan for a deeply restorative 45-minute experience combining Yoga Nidra and gentle sound healing, inviting you to slow down, release tension, and reconnect with a sense of inner peace.
Often referred to as yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practised lying down or seated comfortably. Through gentle awareness, breath, and guided relaxation, you'll be invited into a peaceful state between wakefulness and sleep.
Soft, soothing sounds and gentle vibrations will complement the practice, creating a nurturing atmosphere that encourages deeper relaxation and stillness.
No movement or previous meditation experience is required. Simply arrive, get comfortable, and allow yourself to be guided.
Benefits of Yoga Nidra + Gentle Sound Healing
Encourages deep physical and mental relaxation
Helps ease stress and quiet an overactive mind
May support more restful sleep and emotional balance
Promotes mindfulness, clarity, and inner awareness
Uses soothing sounds to enhance relaxation and a sense of well-being
Giving Back This Holiday Season
Each December, Mount Seymour United supports local organizations through its Advent Giving Tree, including First United Church in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and the North Shore Youth Safe House, operated by Hollyburn Family Services.
In addition to your donation to attend, you are warmly invited to bring new, unused items such as toiletries, socks, pajamas, and underwear to place beneath the Giving Tree in the lobby outside the sanctuary. These gifts will be distributed to people in need within our community.
A portion of the evening’s monetary donations will also support this seasonal initiative, including the purchase of gift cards that allow youth to enjoy simple outings and experiences with friends during the holiday season.
Thank you for helping make this evening not only an opportunity to rest, reconnect, and receive, but also a meaningful way to give back to our community.
